. caitlyn salgado . teasers . hippie life .

Practice, practice, practice.  When I was at a local farmers market in Tennessee, a professional photographer gave me this advice.  He also said, never stop shooting, because the moment you stop is the moment a perfect photograph can be found.  I would have to agree with this, whole heartedly.  I find myself preparing people saying, "Now this may feel a little paparazzi-like, but after a few minutes you will get used to it."  That, is how I capture the most amazing pictures.  Not when I say, "okay smile!"  It's the giggle or the laugh that I get when I accidentally fall on my butt into stickers and somehow manage to snap the photo.  That's where the best photograph can be found.  Practice, practice, practice.

Every time I take a photo it is much much more than just a picture to me.  It is a moment filled with energy, love, and natural beauty.  I guess these days the average public would call that candid and in the photography world it is referred to as, "lifestyle" photography.  I refer to it as energy, captured.  The energy coming out of you when you speak of the love of your life, or your genuine laugh at something silly I did or said.  That, is energy and I love it.  I love looking back through my photos feeling that moment and not just seeing that moment.

Here are a handful of photographs, energy captured, moments.  I am so excited to share these and continue working on them.  Look at her!  Can you say, hello beautiful?  This is Caitlyn Salgado, and she sure was fun to work with.

Cait is twirling around prayer flags.  The flags are believed to spread the prayers of peace, compassion, strength and wisdom into the space in which they are flown.

I can't wait to share the entire shoot, but in the mean time, I hope you enjoyed these teasers.
