Billy & Heather . Leavenworth, WA . SOUTH

It is an understatement to say this shoot was fun, it was a blast!  Especially when I'm getting to spend some quality time with two of my good friends.  I have known Heather and Billy long before we set out to take their engagement photos.  In fact, Heather was the first girl I met after moving to Cashmere after college.  If I remember correctly, we were introduced in the middle of a snow ball fight with some friends.  Being that I wasn't from the snowy parts of Washington, lets just say it didn't end well for me :)  After that, we became known as sisters to many.  We would go out to eat, get coffee, out for a cocktail - wherever it may be - and it never failed.  Someone would always ask us if we were sisters!  I guess the rest is history.  I have some great memories of spending time with these two which even includes kickin' it in Maui together!  

Well enough about how I know them, you need to get to know them!  I have said before, my goal is to capture energy so that when I look through the finished product, I'm not just seeing a moment, I am feeling a moment!  That is what a photograph is for, to tell a story without words :)  

When visiting Maui together, both Heather and Billy got tattoos.  You can see part of Billy's in this photo, but it's more than some ink on his wrist.  The letters spell family.

I love a genuine laugh!

We started the engagement session in Leavenworth, WA.  Heather is from Leavenworth and throughout their relationship, they have spent a lot of time in this little town whether it be at her parent's house, rafting the Wenatchee river or trekking around the surrounding mountains.  SOUTH is a very well known restaurant that serves delicious food and the best cocktails!  (At least I say so teehehe)  We decided to enjoy the sunshine and crisp fall air with a sweet daisy basil margarita in hand.  Yummmm!

When your best friend is gone six months out of the year to fight fire, I'd bet he gets a lot of hugs like this on the few days he gets to spend at home.

I just LOVE this next series of shots.  Pure energy, laughter, and love!

A little rearrangement of the heat lamp on the back patio at SOUTH.  I love these kind of shots!  It shows it's not all posing and camera snapping the entire time :)

A little dancing and twirling makes for some fun times and energy filled photos. 

We didn't spend the entire session at SOUTH.  This is just part one!  Standby for some more lovely energy filled moments that I will be sharing with you all in the near future.  And feel free to leave comments or share this blog if you are friends and family of these two lovely people.  Who doesn't love some love? :)
