a BIG thank you to Toni Peterson // i LOVE my quilt!

Quilts are serious works of art, of which I have never owned.  That is, until now!  John's mother, Toni, makes quilts and oh my are the beautiful.  Everyone in the family gets one; her grandkids, her children, her parents and niece, the list goes on and on.  I am beginning to see it is tradition for her to make quilts for family members.  Well...guess who just got their very own quilt from thee Toni Peterson?  Me!  And I LOVE it!  LOVE.  Did I express that well enough? :) 

  Little did I know, Toni was planning on gifting this to me for my birthday.  Having seen her work through the process of making a quilt, I am even more appreciative of my very own.  I can't thank her enough and will have it forever!  On New Years Eve, John and I snuggled up to watch a movie on the couch.  And to keep ourselves warm?  Well, we of course had the new quilt draped over us.

Thank You!

John doesn't tell hardly anyone that he was in the military.  It isn't something he brags about or speaks much at all about.  The Navy and Marine Corps have shaped where he is in life today.  I am not a fan of conflict, but I still wholeheartedly support our troops.  My Grandpa Jack (John is his real name, coincidentally) served in the Navy as well as my Papa.  So thank you, Dad, Grandpa, John, and all of the women and men that have and do serve our country. 

Oh and, my post from yesterday jinxed fall lasting any longer.  As you can see from the photos, the first snow came last night!

:: unconditional love ::

to love unconditionally. that is the ultimate love, in my opinion. i feel like a lot of love these days is the opposite, conditional love. "i love you, if" "i love you, but" and so on.  what ever happened to "i love you, period."?  

if you have been lucky enough to experience unconditional love from another human being, you are pretty darn lucky cause that is rare these days.  luckily, i have and i am so thankful our lives crossed each other's path.  i have also discovered an alternate place where we can always receive unconditional love.  i'll give you one guess.  :)  here is my answer:

if you're a dog lover than you just know.  you have had the worst day of your life (so you think).  it felt like the entire world was coming down on you.  you walked through that front door and who was there wagging their tail just excited as they have ever been in their entire lives to see you come through that door?  your pup of course!  they unconditionally love us. we could learn a lot from watching how animals love. 

so if you have a pup, no matter how old or how young, give them some love tonight. the unconditional kind :)  and then try to love the people in your life, just the same.
